SQLSYS

(Windows Program 3.1 or higher)

SQL System is an MS SQL Server Development Utility.

Reads a tab delimited text file with column headings containing these columns (at least):

Table, Field, FieldNo, SYSType, DBType, Size, Key, Required, Index, Default

Usage: InputFile [OutputFile]

If OutputFile is not given, default is the same name as InputFile with the extension changed to .sql.

Generates a SQL Server 6.5 SQL text file which defines all the tables listed in InputFile.

Suggest using a spreadsheet (like MS Excel) to create a spreadsheet containing all the metadata information about an entire system. This spreadsheet may be edited at will. Each time you wish to regenerate the changed tables, save the spreadsheet as a tab delimited text file and run SQLSYS to produce the SQL Script.
