Disable InfoBars

Chrome displays a yellow banner every time you launch it from XP or Vista:

This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates because...

Solution:
Right-click the shortcut for Chrome and click on the Properties.
Add --disable-infobars to end of the target.
Example:
"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-infobars

This will need to be done for all shortcuts and other ways that chrome.exe is launched.
HTML files opened from Windows Explorer use the file extension association to open the browser.

To add the option to files opened by association:

FType | find /i "chrome.exe" ChromeHTML="C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -- "%1"

Running FType.exe above shows that the file type associated with chrome.exe is ChromeHTML.

Add the option to string:

FType ChromeHTML="C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-infobars -- "%1"

Note: This fix just avoids the warning, it does not solve the problem, which is that chrome will soon stop supporting XP and Vista.
